Release 1.6 soon?

Ted Vinke
I've heard good news about a new 1.6 release coming soon and I'm very
anxious to get Tomcat 6 and all the bugfixes between 1.5.1.1 and 1.6.

Are there anymore specifics about when its ready for download than
'soon'? Maybe within the next 2 weeks?

Regards, Ted

You should be able to get the current 1.6 code from SVN right now, even though it hasn't been packaged and made available through their web site.

Well not exactly.  You can get our stable.  I wouldn't recommend
running from our trunk.

If you are really really really ambitious you can down load and try to
merge together fixes from our trunk marked at 1.6 and fixed in jira
but this would take you a long time i think.

We will be releasing 1.6 soon but not for at least another few weeks.

Re: Release 1.6 soon?

Ted Vinke
Ah, ok.

Our current to-be development process is basically extracting a packed
distribution and modifying e.g. the *-ext.xml files, adding our own jars
etc. and deploying it for further customisations. We prefereably do not
want to update code from SVN and build dotCMS ourselves, because we
don't modify the code and using a well-defined packaged distribution
appears to be giving us the least compatibillity issues between code
updates - since we don't update from SVN inbetween and can follow normal
release instructions between new distributions.

That's why everybody maybe using the stable 1.6 branch, but I'm hoping
an actual downloadable zipfile is available soon :)

Regards, Ted
