toolbox-ext.xml not working?

Ted Vinke
In 1.5.1.1 somehow my custom tool like

        <tool>
                <key>dummy</key>
                <scope>application</scope>
                <class>mypackage.DummyWebAPI</class>
        </tool>

does not work within toolbox-ext.xml.

If I move it to toolbox.xml just after the <!-- Dotmarketing View Tools
End --> then all is ok. When I try to output a method from the
DummyWebAPI class called getHello() it outputs correctly my "hello
world!" string, but when I place it in toolbox-ext.xml the dummy key
somehow doesn't seem to be found and Velocity falls back and just
displays my code "$dummy.hello"

Do I need to do additional things to get toolbox-ext.xml 'known' by
Velocity to solve this?

Regards, Ted

No we don't actually have the toolbox-ext loading right now.  We had
trouble getting two toolboxes to load and didn't want to concat the
files.

Re: toolbox-ext.xml not working?

Ted Vinke
Ah, ok. In the mean time, the advice is to add my own stuff to
toolbox.xml or figure out a way to load the toolbox-ext.xml.

Thx!

Yes and  if you find a way to load both toolboxes in the dotCMS into
the velocity context please submit the code back to us :-) I worked on
the code for an hour or so one day and ran into some problems.  I
don't remember exactly what they were though.  We currently use
Velocity 1.5

In reply to this post by Ted Vinke
Ted,

We tried having both and couldn't make it work properly. Right now only
toolbox.xml is working.

Thanks
Maria
